Water-Repellent

The invisible impregnation of the fabric keeps the textile surface very smooth, therefore, creating the water-repellent effect. The water rolls off in the form of many drops instead of being absorbed by the upper material**.

The Addict WR is a lightweight, direct and versatile road running shoe. The water-repellent upper made of rugged rip-stop material is complemented by a protective toe bumper. The 10mm EVA midsole with zero heel provides the perfect fusion of cushioning, flexibility and direct ground feel. Premium grip on asphalt is ensured by the innovative outsole technology, developed in close cooperation with Soles by Michelin. With our Addict WR, versatility meets proven comfort.

**The WR finish of the Addict WR, ensures that the upper material does not absorb water by imitating the "lotus flower effect" but lets it roll off in drop form. The upper material is nevertheless lightweight and remains breathable. The "lotus blossom effect" gets weaker over time due to wear and tear - the good news is that it can easily be refreshed. Important to know! A WR impregnation is not "waterproof", but only "water repellent". To have dry feet even in heavy or continuous rain, a membrane is needed to make the shoe "waterproof". The water-repellent material can withstand light rain, but there is always the possibility of water entering through the tongue in individual cases. The functionality is not designed to withstand heavy rain. Functionality decreases over time.

Tip from our customer service: Walking through wet grass is like walking through heavy rain and a WR finish cannot withstand the water indefinitely.

Sole:
Road running sole (10mm) from Soles by Michelin (EVA midsole and rubber outsole tread) with flex grooves and zero heel (ball and heel at the same level); no toe drop.

Insole:
Addict footbed (6mm) made of EVA with textile cover and 3mm heel cushioning.

Tip:
After approx. 500 km, the Addict footbed may start to wear out and should be replaced with a new one. Whether this is the case after 500km or after 800km depends on your individual situation. Please follow your own “gut-feeling”.

ich konnte die Schuhe heute bei strömenden Regen testen. Wasserdicht sind sie nicht, aber sie sind sicher super für den Herbst wo es jederzeit regnen kann, um nicht komplett nass zu werden wie bei den normalen Addict. Ich denke mal, man kann sie imprägnieren? Bitte nicht aus dem Programm nehmen! Ich hoffe, dass das Sortiment nicht umgestellt wird, weg von den Addict zu den höheren, mehr gedämpften Schuhen. Das würde ich sehr schade finden, ich finde die Addict und die Trektoes nämlich perfekt

Our feedback: Die WR-Ausstattung des Addicts WR, sorgt dafür, dass das Obermaterial durch die Nachahmung des "Lotusblüteneffekt" das Wasser nicht aufnimmt sondern in Tropfenform abperlen lässt. Das Obermaterial ist dennoch leicht und bleibt atmungsaktiv. Der Lotusblüteneffekt lässt durch Verschleiß nach - die gute Nachricht ist, dass er einfach wieder aufgefrischt werden kann mit einem Imprägnierspray. Die neuen Addict WR

Wasserabweisend - endlich!

nach dem ich bereits seit 2 Jahren den bisherigen Addict mit Mesh trage, freue ich mich über die wasserabweisende Version. Gerade für den Herbst und Winter muss es nicht mehr ganz so luftig sein. Aber achtung - wasserabweisend ist nicht wasserdicht... würde also trotzdem einen Bogen um Pfützen machen.
