Rainer Predl's Hauly Marathon
Crazy ideas are no big problem for ultra runner Rainer Predl from Austria. Neither the brainstorming nor the implementation. His latest project was probably not the craziest, but certainly one of the more elaborate: a marathon on two dump trucks.
Place two such monster trucks worth 2.5 million euros next to each other at the back, close the small gap between the loading areas and the race track is finished. In this case, the “track” can be measured with a 50m tape measure from the DIY store, as the total running surface including the two roofs of the Haulys is only 48.8 meters. This results in a whopping 865 “laps” and also a few meters in altitude, which result from the seven steps to the roofs. In the end, there were 12,000 steps and therefore around 2000 meters in altitude. Not a real challenge for someone of Rainii's stature and also not to be underestimated.

The record run on the Hauly
Incidentally, during the live-streamed event, blasting took place in the ore mine and mining continued as normal. For this reason, apart from two camera teams from ORF and Servus TV, a few members of the press, Rainii's five-person team and only a few other witnesses were allowed in so as not to compromise safety.
With projects like this, the question of why is never far away. 700 euros in donations for a good cause and a children's hospice is a convincing answer, we think.
ADDICT PRO-R - THE WORLD RECORD SHOE
There is more to come ...

Let's count up what Rainii has already done:
- 70 km around the kitchen table
- 100 km at a height of 155 m around the Vienna Donau Tower
- Marathon in a traffic circle, in a cold store and on a wind turbine
- 30 days on a treadmill
He doesn't like to let us look at his cards, but he has already told us that one of the next Crazy Projects has to do with an Austrian lighthouse. Our research revealed a total of nine lighthouses... But you don't have to be a prophet to guess that he probably wants to run in circles again and has chosen the biggest one. The lighthouse on the Donau Island, Rainii?
