We recommend you to order the model a 1/2 size larger.

Following our trail running debut last year, we now went another big step further with the waterproof version of the Trail Addict and not only improved the lacing system and its storage pocket, but also met the high demands of trail running even more in terms of material and craftsmanship. The integrated membrane ensures that your feet stay dry when you are out and about, while still maintaining a pleasant foot climate. Whether muddy or stony ground - with this shoe you will reach your destination safely!  The sole technology that meanwhile has become typical for our Functional Footwear design concept, developed in collaboration with Soles by Michelin, offers extra grip thanks to multi-directional studs. The soft rip-stop upper material is robust and provides protection in all terrains. The stability that is so central to trail runners, is provided by Joe Nimble's toefreedom® philosophy, which has been legendary for decades.  If necessary, gaiters to protect against dirt and stones are conveniently attached to a specially designed ring and velcro fixture system integrated in the shoe. The additional Flexitec® insole is the ideal supplementary equipment for runs on particularly technical trails: simply placed under the existing insole, it the lightweight spring steel core protects the foot from injury from sharp stones or roots and promotes natural pressure distribution under the metatarsal heads.

OUR ADVICE: After approx. 500km´s of overall running distance, the Addict footbed may have worn down a bit and should be replaced with a new one in order to avoid pain or injuries. Whether this is the case after 500km´s or only after 800km´s depends on your individual situation. It's best to listen to your body carefully, then you are probably on track. You can find the replacement Addict footbeds here.

Was ein toller Schuh

the best shoes I've ever run an ultra in.

Shoe review after Kullamannen Joker 100K

I ran this race in the Joe Nimble Addict Trail shoes. It's my second long race in them and once again I'm amazed by how well they fit my feet. My feet felt really good during and after this race. That my feet were wet for too long, which made the skin hurt, had nothing to do with the shoes. I should have changed socks. Lesson learned. I had less sore feet than I usually have after en ultra race and my feet recovered faster than usual. I'm also impressed by the grip on the steep hills and how well they stayed in place in the wet marchlands where the deep mudd would have made other shoes get stuck and sucked off. The gaiters are a must and stay in place too. I didn't get a lot of dirt into the shoes. When the shoes get wet the water drains out fast and I didn't feel the shoes get all heavy like other shoes do. The insoles have room for improvement. They do feel great, but the part that's underneath the front part of the foot gets squeezed flat fast, so the cushioning disappears and a tiny drop from heal to toe will appear, since the part underneath the heal doesn't get flat. The good thing about the front part is that it forms after the foot and leaves room for swelling feet. It doesn't bother me that this happens because I'm used to running in minimalistic shoes and sandals, so I don't need that much cushioning. A drop of maybe 2 millimetres doesn't concern me and room for swelling feet can be a good thing. But it might concern others and is good to know. It's easy fixed by switching to the old standard Joe Nimble insoles which stay the same from heal to toe, but I like the shoes with their own insoles. The improvement of the insoles could be a front part that's more like the standard insoles. Another thing worth mentioning is, that because the soles are made of such a good and grippy rubber material, they of course have a shorter life span than soles made of stiff and hard rubber with a bad grip. I can already clearly see the wear on the soles and I guess I've now run about 500 km in them. It's the price you pay for grip, flexibility and ground feel and these shoes are hands down the best shoes I've ever run an ultra in.
